«Thinking in Numbers» is Daniel Tammet's essay on popular mathematics, published by Hodder & Stoughton in paperback (240 pages, in English).
Tammet argues that mathematics is not a cold discipline but a lens for understanding life and the mind. With examples such as snowflakes, Anne Boleyn's sixth finger, or his mother's unpredictable behaviour, he reflects on the passage of time, the average person, and how to understand loved ones.
The original subtitle is «How Maths Illuminates Our Lives»; the paperback edition appeared on 17 January 2013.
For readers interested in popular mathematics and in numbers as a way to understand life.
