Discover the fascinating history of the Silk Roads in this book by Peter Frankopan. A journey through world history, from the first settlements in Mesopotamia to the rise of Greece and Rome, the Mongol invasions, the Black Death, and the Cold War. Frankopan shows us how the fate of the West has always been intertwined with the East, reorienting our perspective eastward and revealing how the rise of the West 500 years ago was driven by the desire to control these Eurasian trade networks. An essential work for understanding today's globalized world.
