The illustrations in this edition show the protagonists with the moon in the background, birds and a nocturnal atmosphere that accompanies the reading.

For young children and early readers, especially if looking for an illustrated introduction to children's poetry in English.
Edward Lear was an English artist, illustrator, musician, author and poet, who is known mostly for his literary nonsense in poetry and prose and especially his limericks, a form he popularised but which term he never used.
