«The Carbon Diaries 2017» is the dystopian young adult novel by Saci Lloyd, published by Hodder Children's Books in paperback (416 pages, in English).
Laura Brown narrates in her diary a 2017 London subject to carbon rationing, between university and gigs with her band, The Dirty Angels. Riots, drought, a war over water and the arrival of immigrants launch her into a European tour that becomes a flight, with friendship, betrayal and love as backdrop.
Second instalment of the «Carbon Diaries» series, after «The Carbon Diaries 2015», which was shortlisted for the Costa Book Award.
Recommended for young and adult readers seeking climate dystopias with a teenage protagonist and social awareness.
