«Testigo involuntario» is the legal thriller novel by Gianrico Carofiglio, published by Umbriel in paperback (256 pages, in Spanish).
Nine-year-old Francesco is found dead in a well in Bari, and all the evidence points to Abdou Thiam, an undocumented Senegalese man selling trinkets on the beach. Guido Guerreri, a lawyer in decline, takes on his defense and ends up facing a seemingly closed case on which the least expected witness might depend.
