«Terra baixa» is the prose drama by Àngel Guimerà, published by Barcanova in paperback (128 pages, in Galician).
The work contrasts the lowland, where power and abuse are concentrated, and the highland, a free and pure space from which Manelic comes, a shepherd called to marry Marta, a young woman subjected to her master Sebastià. The affection between Manelic and Marta gives her the strength to rebel, and the conflict among the three leads to a rural drama.
Work originally written in Catalan, presented in a Galician edition. It belongs to the Antaviana Clàssics Catalans collection by Barcanova.
Recommended reading from age 14, suitable for young readers and for the study of theatre in secondary school.
