«Teorías sobre la cultura en la era posmoderna» is Marvin Harris's cultural anthropology essay, in paperback (224 pages, Spanish).
Marvin Harris reviews the debates of the last thirty years on the concept of culture: the objectivity of knowledge, the weight of biology, intelligence quotient and ethnicity. He examines the different explanatory currents of cultural facts and defends the reconstruction of a science of culture against postmodernism.
Volume 1 of Booket's Biblioteca de Bolsillo collection, published in 2004.
Suitable for those starting out in anthropology or sociology and looking for a first approach to cultural debates.

Marvin Harris was an American anthropologist. He was born in Brooklyn, New York City. A prolific writer, he was highly influential in the development of cultural materialism. In his work, he combined Karl Marx's emphasis on the forces of production with Thomas Malthus's insights on the impact of demographic factors on other parts of the sociocultural system.
