«Shantala» is the baby massage guide by Frédérick Leboyer, published by Gaia Ediciones in paperback (160 pages, in Spanish).
Frédérick Leboyer discovered in Calcutta a maternal technique of infant massage and presents it as an art that calms the newborn. In the first weeks, he proposes feeding not only with milk, but with caresses, lullabies and massages that speak to the skin; an ancient wisdom that helps the baby accept the world and smile at life.
It belongs to the Salud natural collection from Gaia. Translated from French by Tomás Onaindia Gascón; the edition includes black-and-white photographs.
For parents and caregivers interested in child well-being and natural care of the newborn.

Frédérick Leboyer was a French obstetrician and author. He is best known for his 1975 book, Birth Without Violence, which popularized gentle birthing techniques. He also advocated low lighting and quiet in a warm room to limit the supposed shock of birth,[Reynolds, Concise Encyclopedia of Special Education, 138] and that a newborn be laid on its mother's stomach and allowed to bond, instead of being taken away for tests.
