«Set mars i tretze rius» is the contemporary novel by Monica Ali, published by Columna CAT in paperback (532 pages, in Catalan).
The novel follows Nazneen, a young Bengali woman who arrives in London after an arranged marriage and tries to make her way in a new country. Her sister Hasina marries for love and lives a different fate; the correspondence between them bridges the distance. The story addresses everyday courage, identity and the search for happiness.
Catalan translation by Jordi Van Campen Obiols of the original novel «Brick Lane» (2003). Part of the Clàssica collection from Columna.
For the general public who enjoys contemporary fiction with immigrant characters and cultural contrasts between Bangladesh and London.
