«Renata toca el piano, estudia inglés y etcétera, etcétera, etcétera» is the children's novel by Ramón García Domínguez (Edelvives, paperback, 144 pages).
Maribel signs Renata up for many extracurricular activities to secure her future, and the girl is left with no time to play. Sleepwalking, Renata does origami at night; the psychologist discovers that it compensates for the play she lacks during the day. A conversation with the father of Loles, her friend, makes Maribel value children's play.
Winner of the Ala Delta Prize in 1992; part of Edelvives' Ala Delta collection (no. 155).
Children's literature work recommended from age 8, for readers interested in stories about everyday life and the value of play.
