«Rebeldes» is the young adult novel by S. E. Hinton, published by Santillana USA Pub Co Inc in paperback (200 pages, in Spanish).
The story follows two teenagers from the New York suburbs caught between rival gangs. Street fights, violence, marginalization and family conflicts mark their difficult transition to maturity, although a glimmer of hope runs through the entire novel.
The novel was originally published in English as The Outsiders in 1967; this Spanish edition dates from 1985.
Aimed at young people and secondary school students: a classic of young adult realism about gangs, family and maturity, commonly read in schools.
