«Raclette» is the play by Santiago Cortegoso Calvar, published by Edicións Xerais in paperback (104 pages, in Galician).
«Raclette» brings together five characters around a table and composes a human mosaic that addresses lack of communication, death, the couple, motherhood, overprotection and violence. The dramatic structure doles out information and combines irony and corrosive humour to expose the contradictions of a society that devours its members.
The play was published in 2015 in the Biblioteca Dramática Galega collection. It won the XXII Álvaro Cunqueiro Prize for theatrical texts and the Fervenzas Literarias 2015 Prize in the Theatre category.
For those who follow contemporary theatre and seek award-winning works of current Galician playwriting.
