«Xogando con gatos» is a children's play by Antón Cortizas, published by Grupo Anaya Publicaciones Generales in hardback (120 pages, in Galician).
The work starts from the observation that today's children barely play freely and spontaneously: screens, lack of meeting spaces, fewer children on the street and schedules full of directed activities make it difficult. Against this, it champions imaginative and collective play as a path to creativity, freedom and socialisation.
The book belongs to the Biblioteca Dramática Galega and includes illustrations by Leandro Lamas. The work won the Manuel María Prize for Children's Dramatic Literature 2014.
Recommended for readers aged 10 to 12, with an interest in children's theatre and Galician literature.
