«Quota Albania» is the memoir by Mario Rigoni Stern, published by Einaudi in paperback (152 pages, in Italian).
The author reconstructs a year of war and two military campaigns, in France and Greece, thanks to two notebooks he managed to save. He narrates the experience of the nineteen-year-old corporal: the June campaign in the Alps, the hunger, the sadness of fighting in foreign lands, and the arrival in the mountains of Albania, where the forest allows him to feel free.
Published in 2005 in the Einaudi tascabili. Scrittori collection (no. 1077).
For readers of war memoirs and contemporary Italian literature.
Mario Rigoni Stern was an Italian author and World War II veteran.
