«Planeta humà» is the essay by Robert Sala and Eudald Carbonell published by Editorial Empúries in paperback (280 pages, in Catalan).
«Planeta humà» analyses the process of hominisation and humanisation of the Earth, which began over four million years ago. It reviews acquisitions such as bipedalism and symbolic language, drawing on recent empirical data, especially the Atapuerca findings, to argue that humanisation had no foundational moment: it is a long process that remains open.
«Planeta humà» was published in Barcelona in 2000 within the Biblioteca Universal Empúries collection and includes bibliographic references.
For readers interested in human evolution and prehistory, with a popularising approach based on the Atapuerca findings.
Eudald Carbonell i Roura is a Catalan archaeologist, anthropologist and paleontologist.
