«Placer licuante» is the novel by Luis Goytisolo, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (252 pages, in Spanish).
An abandoned husband plots revenge against the pair of lovers, while the boundary between guilt and innocence blurs. The ambiguous characters, victims or executioners, move between loves and hatreds, jealousy and madness, and the story drifts toward a dark and unsettling outcome.
The cover shows a black-and-white photograph of two intertwined hands, with the title in golden tones.
Recommended for readers of contemporary fiction in Spanish who appreciate intense emotional conflicts and morally ambiguous characters.
