«Olivia no sabe perder» is the children's story by Elvira Lindo, published by EDICIONES SM in hardback (24 pages, in Spanish).
Olivia is bored at home until a game of snakes and ladders with her mother and grandparents reveals a lesson: winning is not what matters, and the best part of the game is taking part and having fun. An everyday story that opens the way to talk to children about frustration and emotions when losing.
It is number 9 in the Cuentos de ahora collection, with illustrations by Emilio Urberuaga, and was published on 1 March 2005.
Aimed at children aged 3 to 5, with cursive lettering, and useful for working on frustration in early childhood.
Spanish writer, screenwriter and journalist, author of the children's series Manolito Gafotas and of adult novels such as 'A corazón abierto'. She won the Spanish National Award for Children's and Young Adult Literature in 1998.
