The third edition of this field guide deals with the 386 species of birds that can be found in Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands. It also includes information on the Catalunya Nord, the Franja de Ponent and Andorra. The guide includes 1,033 illustrations that facilitate the identification of the different plumages according to sex and age, even of recently established exotic birds. The texts and the 323 distribution maps incorporate the most current data. For each species, the guide shows illustration, text, map and QR code. The text includes the name in Catalan and the scientific name, the voice, the ecological requirements, the distribution and its population size and trend. The QR code links directly to the website of the Internet Bird Collection (IBC) of each of the species, where a gallery of photos, videos and sounds is shown that complements the information provided in the guide.

Toni Llobet is a Catalan artist and illustrator from Barcelona. He has illustrated several bird and wildlife books, including the New Catalan Breeding Bird Atlas, Handbook of the Birds of the World and the Handbook of the Mammals of the World.
