«Obras jocosas» is the satirical anthology by Francisco de Quevedo, published by Edimat in paperback (172 pages, in Spanish).
Collection of short satirical pieces by Quevedo, known in their first edition as Juguetes de la niñez y travesuras del ingenio. The texts show the author's humorous vein and his mastery of language to portray with irony types and customs of the Golden Age, in contrast to his more serious and reflective work.
The volume belongs to Edimat's Clásicos de Siempre collection and includes a prologue by Isabel Guillén Pardo.
Spanish Golden Age writer and poet, master of conceptismo, author of El Buscón and of an enormous body of poetry and satire.
