«November sechzehn» is the historical novel by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, published by Piper in hardback (1199 pages, in German).
November 1916: in Petrograd social life continues as the Duma debates the monarchy, the war and reforms; munitions factory workers lean towards sedition and a tense calm reigns at the front. In Zurich, Lenin prepares his return. Solzhenitsyn combines historical and fictional characters.
Second knot of the series «Das Rote Rad»; the action takes place between 27 October and 17 November 1916. Translated from the Russian by Heddy Pross-Weerth.
Will appeal to those who wish to delve into the pre-revolutionary Russia portrayed by Solzhenitsyn.
