Amor Towles is an American novelist. He is best known for his bestselling novels Rules of Civility (2011), A Gentleman in Moscow (2016), and The Lincoln Highway (2021). Towles began writing following a career in investment banking.

Amor Towles was born in Boston and pursued his academic studies at Yale College and Stanford University.

His literary career began with the publication of a short story cycle in the Paris Review in 1989.

His debut novel, Rules of Civility, became a New York Times bestseller and was praised by the Wall Street Journal.

The acclaimed novel A Gentleman in Moscow cemented his international success by staying on bestseller lists for over forty weeks.
