«No sin mi hija» is the autobiographical account by Betty Mahmoody and William Hoffer, published by Seix Barral in hardback (430 pages, in Spanish).
In 1984, Betty Mahmoody travels to Tehran with her Iranian husband and their four-year-old daughter for a two-week holiday. When Betty's husband decides to stay there and local law supports him, mother and daughter are held in a foreign country. To return to the United States, only a clandestine escape through the mountains to Turkey remains.
Originally published in English as «Not Without My Daughter» in 1987; this Spanish-language edition is from 1991.
For readers of autobiographies and survival memoirs, and also for those who know the story from Brian Gilbert's film with Sally Field.

Betty Mahmoody is an American author and public speaker. In 1984, during a visit to Iran with her husband and daughter, he refused to let them return to the United States, holding them captive in Iran and subjecting them to constant abuse until she escaped with her daughter to Turkey in 1986. After she and her daughter returned to the US and after her divorce to Moody, she garnered media attention in 1987 when she published Not Without My Daughter, a memoir recounting her captivity in Iran. MGM-Pathé Communications adapted her memoir into a film in 1991.
