«Niederrhein an und für sich» is a collection of readings by Thorsten Baßfeld, Christian Behrens, Uwe Brosch, Okko Herlyn and Almuth Sperveslage, published in hardback.
It brings together narrative and poetic texts about the Lower Rhine (Niederrhein): its landscapes, traditions, characters and ways of life, seen through the experience of five authors. The whole retains the intimate feel of the public readings that give the work its title, between a portrait of local customs and a local chronicle.
Published by Klartext Verlag in 2002, in German; 80 pages. The edition includes a CD with live recordings of the readings.
A work of interest to audiences who appreciate regional literature and the German oral tradition.
