«Nektar oder der Duft der Italienerin. Roman der Versuchung» is the novel by Lily Prior, published by Europa Verlag in hardback (251 pages, in German).
The novel follows Ramona Drottoveo, an albino raised on an Italian estate, whose intoxicating scent drives men mad. After the death of her beekeeper husband and her banishment to Naples, the birth of her daughter Blandina strips her of this gift. A tragicomic fable about desire, the senses and justice.
Translation from the English by Xenia Osthelder. The original title is «Nectar: A Novel of Temptation» and the work was first published in 2002.
Will appeal to those who enjoy literary fiction and magical realism with humour and eroticism.
