«Mujeres» is Isabel-Clara Simó's collection of short stories, published by Alfaguara in paperback (195 pages, in Spanish).
The stories in the volume move away from a single vision of women: their protagonists are tender and hard, passive and aggressive, strong and weak, victims and victimizers. Each story observes a different facet of female identity and asserts that every woman is an individual, not a stereotype.
Work originally published in Catalan as «Dones»; this Spanish edition includes translation by Javier Pérez Escohotado and illustrations by Nuria Pompeia.
Isabel-Clara Simó i Monllor was a Spanish journalist and writer. She is considered one of the most important writers in the Catalan language.
