«Mi vecino de abajo» is the children's novel by Daniel Nesquens, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (144 pages, in Spanish).
The young narrator evokes his downstairs neighbour, S. Peltoonen, an Icelander with disconcerting habits: he laid out lettuce leaves, never turned on the hallway light and had travelled the world with a circus. Between humour and mystery, the story turns everyday life into an adventure that celebrates the power of imagination.
Number 213 in the El Barco de Vapor collection, Orange series. It won the El Barco de Vapor Prize in 2011. Includes illustrations by Fran Collado.
Recommended for readers aged 8 to 12 who enjoy everyday stories full of humour and mystery.
