«Mémoires d'un âne» is the children's novel by the condesa de Ségur, published in the Folio Junior collection in paperback (272 pages, in French).
Cadichon is not an ordinary donkey: neither «silly as a donkey» nor stubborn, but a wise donkey who writes his memoirs. His tricks are not always kind, because besides being clever he is resentful, but his adventures with the children and the lessons he learns turn the story into a fable full of humour and morality.
Work originally published in 1860; this 2016 edition belongs to the Folio Junior collection.
Recommended for young readers and for those looking for classics of French children's literature with animals and morals.
