Violeta lives in the shadow of Will, a fascinating and authoritarian brother who can be charming or terrifying. When Will discovers a secret about his own past, Violeta takes refuge in the fantasy world of Casper Dream, her favourite author. The arrival of Jasmine, a new student, seems to offer her an escape route, though it is unclear whether Jasmine can be trusted.
