«Mauricio o las elecciones primarias» is a contemporary novel by Eduardo Mendoza, published by Seix Barral in hardback (368 pages, in Spanish).

Mauricio, a dentist with ideals but a weak character, returns to Barcelona and takes part in the socialist party's campaign. His relationship with Clotilde, torn between illusions and reality, and with Porritos, who reveals dark aspects to him, gives rise to an ironic chronicle of post-transition Barcelona and an ethical and political assessment of the era.
