«Margot l'escargot» is the children's story by Antoon Krings, published by Giboulées in hardback (32 pages, in French).
Margot, the snail protagonist, is fed up with her routine in the garden and decides to explore further afield. A fall into a stream turns her outing into a journey inside a sardine tin: she navigates waterfalls and waves until she reaches a sunny beach, where she meets her exotic cousins, the sea shells, in an adventure about friendship and the courage to explore the unknown.
It belongs to the children's collection Drôles de petites bêtes, from Gallimard Jeunesse/Giboulées, and its original edition dates from 1995.
Suitable for children aged 3 to 6; fits into the category of picture books and bedtime stories.
