Malraux in Spain is an original account of the history of the España squadron, contextualizing its political and military implications. Through a combination of images, mostly unpublished, and text, a complete vision of the challenges faced by Malraux and the warlike actions of his squadron is offered. The book narrates the disenchantment with the communism of those who fought against fascism out of solidarity. This edition includes a prologue by Jorge Semprún, which highlights the documentary and historical value, as well as the human warmth of the work. The writer Paul Nothomb, Malraux's partner in the squadron, reconstructs this adventure with the support of images of the aviator Raymond Maréchal.
