Leopoldo Antonio Lugones Argüello was an Argentine poet, essayist, novelist, playwright, historian, professor, translator, biographer, philologist, theologian, diplomat, politician and journalist. His short stories made him a crucial precursor and also a pioneer of both the fantastic and science fiction literature in Argentina.
