«Los santos inocentes» is the contemporary fiction novel by Miguel Delibes, published by Austral in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
In rural Extremadura in the 1960s, the family of Paco, «el Bajo», serves on an estate in conditions of servitude. Paco is injured during the hunting season and the young master Iván demands he accompany him on the drives; the novel contrasts the cruelty of the privileged with the dignity of those who suffer injustice.
