«Los nueve libros de la Historia» is the historical work by Herodotus, published by Edaf in paperback (800 pages, in Spanish).
Herodotus, considered the first historian, gathers in this work the knowledge accumulated during his travels through the ancient world. Rather than merely describing events, he seeks to understand their causes, from the wars between Greeks and barbarians to the customs of peoples of the Upper Nile, Babylon, or the Black Sea.
Translated from the Greek by Bartolomé Pou, with an introduction by Víctor de Lama de la Cruz. Volume 181 of the Biblioteca Edaf collection.
Aimed at scholars of the ancient world and readers interested in the origins of historiography.

Herodotus was a Greek historian and geographer from the Greek city of Halicarnassus, under Persian control in the 5th century BC, and a later citizen of Thurii in modern Calabria, Italy. He wrote the Histories, a detailed account of the Greco-Persian Wars, among other subjects such as the rise of the Achaemenid dynasty of Cyrus. He has been described as "The Father of History", a title conferred on him by the ancient Roman orator Cicero.
