In 1973, Josef Mengele meets with other Nazi leaders in Brazil to discuss an ambitious project that will determine the fate of the Aryan race. To carry it out, they plan to assassinate a hundred men. An amateur investigator records the meeting and warns Yakov Liebermann, a famous Nazi hunter, who embarks on a race against time to solve the enigma before Mengele's plan is realized. This novel by Ira Levin, author of 'Rosemary's Baby', explores themes of suspense and political thriller, anticipating its time with a plot that would be even more feasible today.
