In 'Los disparos del cazador' (The Hunter's Shots), Rafael Chirbes introduces us to a man spending his last days in the house he never wanted, a place laden with memories. From there, he tries to reconstruct his past, remembering his humble beginnings, his social and economic rise in post-war Madrid, his lovers, and friends. Along the way, he lost his soul and love. Chirbes returns to the moral space of his previous novels, speaking to us in a tense tone about a generation that considers itself 'innocent' but has built itself on the foundations laid by the 'dirty hands' of others.

Rafael Chirbes was a Spanish novelist. He was born in Tavernes de la Valldigna in Valencia. He is the author of several novels, two of which have won the Premio de la Crítica de narrativa castellana - Crematorio (2007) and En la orilla (2013). The latter also won the Premio Nacional de Narrativa.
