«Living a Life that Matters» is the self-help and spirituality essay by Harold S. Kushner, published by Anchor in paperback (176 pages, in English).
Kushner addresses the tension between the desire for success and moral conscience: why decent people sometimes betray their principles, how to seek justice without falling into vengeance, and how to make relationships with family and friends a source of meaning. He draws on stories from his congregants and the biblical story of Jacob.
This edition includes a new epilogue by the author. The author, a rabbi, is known for his work «When Bad Things Happen to Good People».
For readers of self-help, spirituality, and philosophy seeking a serene reflection on the meaning of life.

Harold Samuel Kushner was an American rabbi, author, and lecturer. He was a member of the Rabbinical Assembly of Conservative Judaism and served as the congregational rabbi of Temple Israel of Natick, in Natick, Massachusetts, for 24 years.
