«Les quatre estacions: Vivaldi» is the illustrated book-CD by José Antonio Abad Varela, published by Kalandraka-Hipòtesi in hardback (48 pages, in Catalan).
The album combines a story about nature with the violin performance of «Las cuatro estaciones» by Vivaldi by Sarah Chang. A squirrel discovers the arrival of spring, and Emilio Urberuaga's illustrations recreate the landscape and animals of each season with intense colour.
Co-published by Kalandraka Editora and Edicions Hipòtesi, with Catalan translation by Joan Barahona Casellas and 25 illustrations by Emilio Urberuaga, winner of the 2011 National Illustration Award. Includes a CD.
Aimed at readers aged 7 and up, though the combination of illustrated album, story and classical music also makes it suitable for adults.
