«Les contes rouges du chat perché» is the children's storybook by Marcel Aymé, published by Editions Gallimard in paperback (208 pages, in French).
Delphine and Marinette are two sisters living on a farm where animals talk and become adventure companions. Between mischief and misunderstandings with their parents, the stories blend humour, fantasy and everyday lessons, with characters such as a detective pig, a loyal dog and a cat expert at deflecting suspicion.
The work was originally published in 1963 and this edition is from 2007, in the Folio Junior collection. The illustrations are by Philippe Dumas.
Suitable for readers aged 9 to 12 and for those seeking classic French stories with humour and fantasy.
Marcel Aymé was a French novelist and playwright, who also wrote screenplays and works for children.
