«Le Livre Tibétain de la Vie et de la Mort» is the essay by Sogyal Rinpoché, published by Le Livre de Poche in paperback (762 pages, in French).
Sogyal Rinpoché presents the Tibetan vision of life and death, combining ancestral wisdom and contemporary science. He explains the bardos, states of consciousness after death that the Bardo Thödol spread in the West, and offers meditation practices to prepare for dying, help the dying, and understand rebirth and karma.
The work was originally published in 1992 as «The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying»; this edition includes a foreword by the Dalai Lama and a French translation by Gisèle Gaudebert and Marie-Claude Morel.
For readers interested in Tibetan Buddhism, meditation, and reflection on death and accompanying the dying.

Sogyal Rinpoche was a Tibetan Dzogchen lama. He was recognized as the incarnation of a Tibetan master and visionary saint of the 20th century, Tertön Sogyal Lerab Lingpa. Sogyal Rinpoche was the founder and former spiritual director of Rigpa — an international network of over 100 Buddhist centres and groups in 23 countries around the world — and the author of the best-selling book The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, which has been printed in 30 languages and 56 countries. Before his retirement, in the wake of abuse allegations in 2017, he had been teaching for 40 years in Europe, America, Asia and Australia.
