«Las Rubaiyyat» is the poetry collection of the Persian polymath Omar Khayyam, published by Edaf in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
Omar Khayyam's quatrains, written between the 11th and 12th centuries, reflect on existence, destiny and the enjoyment of the present, with a tension between the sacred and the profane. Since Las Rubaiyyat appeared in the West in 1859, they have been interpreted as scepticism and rebellion and also as an echo of Sufism.
This edition belongs to the Arca de Sabiduría collection. The Spanish translation, signed by Félix E. Etchegoyen, is based on the French version by Franz Toussaint.
Recommended for readers interested in classical Persian poetry, philosophy and spirituality.

Omar Khayyam (1048–1131) was a Persian poet and polymath, known for his contributions to mathematics, astronomy, philosophy, and Persian literature. He was born in Nishapur, Iran and lived during the Seljuk era, around the time of the First Crusade.
