«L'arbre aux dinosaures» is the illustrated album by Douglas Henderson, published by Archimède-L'École des Loisirs in paperback (37 pages, in French).
It narrates the life of a tree at the end of the Triassic, 225 million years ago, and describes its surroundings: flying reptiles, fish, and dinosaurs of all sizes. After 500 years a storm knocks it down and it ends up as a fossil in the petrified forest of the United States. The realistic illustrations recreate the prehistoric landscape.
Work originally published in English as 'Dinosaur Tree' in 1994; the French edition is from 1997 and includes colour illustrations.
Suitable for child and young adult readers with an interest in dinosaurs and past ecosystems.
