«L'amande» is the erotic novel by Nedjma, published by Plon in paperback (259 pages, in French).
«L'amande» narrates the encounter of a young Arab woman with a man who reveals to her an intense, total and deeply sensual amorous experience, in a story that breaks the taboo of sex and silence. It is also a defence of women's expressive and bodily freedom in the Arab world, with a political and emancipatory dimension.
«L'amande», subtitled «récit intime», was published in France in 2004 and appears in the literature and fiction category.
For those interested in contemporary Arab literature and stories of female emancipation.
