«L'altro nome. Settologia I-II» is the literary fiction novel by Jon Fosse, published by La nave di Teseo in paperback (368 pages, in Italian).
The story centres on Asle, an elderly widowed painter living in isolation on the Norwegian coast who recalls his existence as the year draws to a close. In the nearby town there is another Asle, also an artist, solitary and alcoholic; both are two versions of the same life, and through them faith, death, light and shadow are explored.
It belongs to the Settologia series and this volume brings together its first two books. Italian translation by Margherita Podestà Heir. Jon Fosse received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2023.
