«La tragique épopée de Raoul de Cambrai» is the adaptation of the eponymous chanson de geste by Jean-Pierre Tusseau, in paperback (175 pages, in French).
The narrative recreates the medieval epic of Raoul de Cambrai, a feudal lord who, dispossessed of his fief, ravages Artois to recover it and unleashes a war that passes to the next generation. The work does not glorify violence: it shows the battle of Origny and the difficult balance between honour and the obligations of the feudal world.
The edition is from 1991 and was published in Paris.
