«La réparation: De la délinquance à la découverte de la responsabilité» is Maryse Vaillant's essay in paperback (147 pages, in French).
Faced with the perceived impunity of young offenders and criticism of prison as a cause of recidivism, it presents the penal reparation created in France in 1993: the minor assumes responsibility for their acts and repairs the harm. The author connects it with Melanie Klein's psychoanalytic vision as an educational principle of responsibility, solidarity and respect.
The work was published in September 1999 in the «Sur le champ» collection by Gallimard and includes a foreword by Boris Cyrulnik.
Of interest to readers and professionals in education, juvenile justice and psychoanalysis.
