«La pulga rusa: y su acordeón» is a children's picture book by Gemma Martí O'Toole, published by La Galera in hardback (12 pages, in Spanish).
Polina is a very refined Russian flea and the star of Jetov's circus, a grumpy director who treats his performers badly: jugglers, a magician, clowns and trapeze artists. Every afternoon, Polina plays the accordion and delights the audience, until one day she decides things must change.
Number 72 in the Picture Books collection, with illustrations by Noemí Villamuza. It is an accordion-fold book and won the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Award 2011.
Aimed at children aged 5 to 7, especially those who enjoy animal adventures and the circus atmosphere.
