«La promesa del renacuajo» is the children's story by Jeanne Willis, published by RBA Molino in hardback, with 32 pages, in Spanish.
A caterpillar and a tadpole fall in love by the water, and she asks him to promise never to change. Nature, however, takes its course: he will become a frog and she a butterfly. A humorous tale about the cycle of life and love that calls the classic happy ending into question.
Number 61 in the «No ficción infantil» collection. Spanish translation by José Morán Orti. Recommended reading age: 5 to 6 years.
Suitable for early readers and for shared reading at home or in the classroom, with humour that also appeals to adults.
Jeanne Willis is an English author of several children's books, including The Monster Bed (1986) and the Dr. Xargle's Book of... series (1988–2004). Willis was also a contributor to the authorised Winnie-the-Pooh sequel, The Best Bear in All the World.
