Synopsis of La Pierre du Grand Nord

«La Pierre du Grand Nord» is the young-adult adventure novel by Nicolas Gerrier, published by Cideb Editrice in paperback (80 pages, in French).

Thomas Laventure, a fourteen-year-old boy who dreams of being an adventurer like his father, moves with his family to Nunavut, territory of the Inuit people, to search for meteorites. While building an igloo, he finds a warm pink stone that triggers a series of extraordinary events, including the appearance of a talking wolf. The narrative is complemented by grammar, vocabulary and comprehension exercises, DELF-style activities and cultural dossiers on Nunavut, polar dogs, the aurora borealis and the Inuit people.
