The story of mankind is full of discoveries that at first seemed impossible, until someone proved they were not. This original first work, with elegant and incisive humor, is an ironic look at the fragility of our convictions, the stimulating power of faith, and the absurdity of a political system based on the impact of the image. The uneventful career of Dr. Alfred Jones passes without incident at the National Center for the Promotion of Fish Farming, where he has built his reputation on pioneering work on the reproduction of mollusks. However, everything changes the day his boss asks him to evaluate a strange project: introducing salmon to Yemen. Rational from head to toe, Fred does not hesitate for a moment to dismiss it outright, ignoring that behind the peculiar idea is Mohamed ben Zaidi bani Tihama, a wealthy sheikh determined to export the purifying art of fly fishing to the mountains of northern Yemen. The situation is complicated when the crazy project catches the attention of an ambitious advisor to the prime minister, who discovers an excellent opportunity to improve the image of the United Kingdom in the Middle East and incidentally project his political future. Suddenly, the relentless gears of power start up and Dr. Jones is forced to reconsider his initial opinion, collaborate with the young and attractive representative of the sheikh and embark on an adventure with an ending worthy of the best thriller.
